Who We Are
We are a community orchestra in Southwest Utah. We welcome stringed instrument players in all the communities in and around Southwest Utah, including St George, Ivins, Washington, Santa Clara, Hurricane, La Verkin, Toquerville,Rockville and Mesquite.
We welcome all levels and ages of stringed players. Join us and bring your violin, viola, cello or bass.
We welcome:
- People picking up the instrument again after a very long break
- Active players looking to join a fun group
- Experienced players wanting to enhance their music experiences by playing with others
- New players that can read music
- Players wanting the experience of playing in an orchestra
The purpose of the Desert Strings Community Orchestra is to have fun making music with other people, learn, and to make new friends. We play a variety of music, including modern, favorites, fiddle tunes and classical.

Schedule
We rehearse once per week on Monday for the months of Sep to Dec, and Jan to May. We are on break for the months of June, July and August.
Practice session: 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
Rehearsal: 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
Location: Sunrise Ridge Intermediate School, 3167 S 2350 S, St George UT.

Tuition for the rehearsals is $25 per month. The practice session is free.

Desert Strings Quintet
Desert Strings has a string quintet that is available to play at your event.
The quintet plays a variety of music appropriate for all occasions - weddings, meetings, parties, birthdays, dinners, holiday get togethers, etc.

Desert Strings is enrolled in the Smith's Inspiring Donations Program.
