Who We Are
Desert Strings is a community orchestra in Southwest Utah.
Desert Strings is a group for people that can read music, have some experience with their instrument and want to play with others, have fun and perform. There is no audition required to join us.
Rehearsals
Desert Strings holds rehearsals on Monday evenings January through May, and Sep through Dec. We take a break for the months of June, July and August.
We have two scheduled sessions each night: a general or quintet practice session, and a rehearsal.
Both sessions are in the Sunrise Ridge Intermediate School, 3167 S 2350 S, St George UT.

Practice Sessions
We have practice sessions on Monday nights from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
Practice sessions are for everyone:
- Beginning players wanting extra help.
- Anyone wanting to try out the group music.
- Anyone that wants to work on a specific piece of music.
- Anyone that wants more time playing with the group.
There is no cost to attend the practice sessions.
Anyone is welcome to join the quintet practice sessions.
Rehearsals
We rehease on Monday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
The rehearsal tuition is $25 per month. See the Tuition Payment page for more information and to pay online.

Desert Strings Sound Files for the Spring 2024 trimester
The following are sound files in mp3 format for most of the songs we are playing. You can download them to listen to them and play along.
If you want to play along with them but want to change the speed without changing the sound, you can use (free) AudioPo on your smart phone.
